Bridal Beauty Tips for The Big Day
Some brides–to-be have dreamed of their wedding day since they were a little girl. Some brides-to-be didn’t give their wedding day a second thought until their fiancé popped the question. The following beauty tips will help you have a beautiful radiant complexion no matter what category you fall under.
Q. Is Skincare really that important?
A. Yes it is. Your makeup will only look as good as the canvas (your skin) it is placed on. If you are not currently using a skin care regimen, you should start this process 6 to 8 months before your wedding day. You should pick a skincare regimen that is appropriate for your skin type and that address your skin concerns. The basic steps that are needed for any skin type is as follows: Cleanse, tone, exfoliate, protect (sunscreen), moisturize.
Q. I want my complexion to be radiant for my special day, should I get a facial a couple of days before my wedding?
A. No, you should not get a facial, peel or microdermabrasion within 2 weeks of your event. You want your skin to have time to recover if there is some form of irritation.
Q. I have never had my eyebrows shaped. Is it really that important?
A. Yes, having your eyebrows shaped will make a huge difference in your appearance. It will open up your eyes, frame your face, give you and instant lift and help you look pull together. There are a number of options available for shaping: Tweezing, threading, and waxing. I would suggest going to an experienced professional.
Q. What type of foundation should I wear?
A. It totally depends on your personality and comfort level. There are many formulations on the market to choose from.
Tinted Moisturizers will give you sheer coverage. Liquid foundations will give you light to medium coverage. Cream to Powder and stick foundations will give you full coverage. Be sure that in choosing a color that there is no line of demarcation between the jaw line and neck. Make sure your foundation matches your skin tone exactly.
Q. My make-up seems to wear off by the end of the day, is there any thing that can help my make-up last though out my wedding day?
A. There are couple of things that can help. First, make sure that you are exfoliating so that you are getting all of the dead skin cells off of your face. This will help your make-up adhere to nice new skin cells. Second, there are number of products on the market that can help. Foundation Primer, Eye shadow primer and lip primer just to name a few.
Q. I have really dry chapped lips what can I do to have smooth lips for my wedding day?
A. I would suggest a 2 step lip treatment. Step one is a lip exfoilator this step will take off all of the dead skin. Step two is a lip balm or lip moisturizer this step will keep your lips hydrated. You should keep the lip balm with you at all times and reapply whenever your lips feel a little dry. You should also apply the lip balm before you start to apply your make-up. This will ensure that your lips are kissable when you say “I Do”.
Q. I have dry skin do I need to wear powder?
A. Only in the areas that tend to get a little shiny. That area is usually the t-zone (forehead, nose and chin). Use a powder brush instead of the puff that comes with the powder. The powder brush will give you a sheer less concentrated powdery look.
Q. I have oily skin, what type of face cleanser should I use?
A. The best cleanser for someone whose skin is oily is a foaming cleaner or a gel cleanser. A creamy cleanser would have too much moisture and could aid in the production of break outs.
Q. I have blonde hair and blue eyes what eye make-up would look best on me?
A. I would suggest natural colors warm browns, warm taupes, and soft peach eye shadows. Brown, deep brown and taupe eye liner and Black Brown mascara. These colors will help your blue eyes really stand out with out being over done.
Q. How do I keep my eye make up from running if I cry?
A. Eye shadow primer, water proof eyeliner and water proof mascara.
